Gemini 4 Carbon tops the Intelligence Index at 59
Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon on 28 October. Artificial Analysis places it first of 52 models on its Intelligence Index v5.0 with a score of 59, ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 at 58 and GPT-6 Astra at 57. Introductory pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output, rising to $4 and $20, with cached inputs discounted 95% (VentureBeat). Google's own figures put Carbon at 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro, 54.8% on ExploitGym and 71.0% on Collinear's CWE-bench, all evaluated without guardrails.
Google is granting access initially to selected cyber defenders inside its curated Fairwind Program, and has set no date for developers, businesses or consumers. A European buyer comparing frontier options this quarter can price Carbon but cannot run it without an invitation. Every benchmark figure above except the Intelligence Index score is Google's own.
Microsoft recorded $10 billion of revenue from OpenAI in one quarter
Microsoft's quarterly filing for the three months to 30 September states that “we recorded revenue from commercial arrangements with OpenAI, inclusive of revenue-sharing payments, of $10.0 billion” — about 11% of the $92.3 billion group total. The same filing lists $7.2 billion owed by OpenAI at the end of September, against $6.0 billion three months earlier, and puts Microsoft's interest at approximately 24% on an as-converted basis.
Azure revenue was $33.2 billion, up 48%. It now sits inside a new Agents and Infra segment that also holds Microsoft 365 cloud, server and productivity licensing, industry solutions and support services, and which reported $76.8 billion and 25% growth (Microsoft). Microsoft recast its segments for fiscal 2027 and restated prior periods to match, so a buyer benchmarking Azure against figures published before September should re-base them.
